Last of my little questions :-) let's say I have a Dwarf cannon (Cannon (48”, A1, AP(6), Blast(3))) and let's say I score a success. So my Successes are 1+6(autosuccesse) = 7 * 3 (Blast) = 21 Successes. Let's say I hit a unit of Dwarf Warriors (Def 5+). So i have to roll 21 dices and if i score a 5 or more i block a damage. Statistically I would nearly sure wipe out that unit with one hit right? Even a hit with a Bolt thrower (Bolt Thrower (48”, A1, AP(4), Deadly)) there is a high percentage that the unit that i target gets wiped out (even if its "only" one Bolt that hits the unit)
Am I not seeing a rule or is the artillery a little bit overpowered? :-)
Dwarf cannon (Cannon (48”, A1, AP(6), Blast(3))): 1 Success scored = 1 Hit Blast(3) multiplies the hits scored = 3 Hits The AP(6) give a +6 modifier to wound, not auto successes: So 3 rolls to wound @ +6 (which should all kill those dwarfs warriors unless you roll 1's
Bolt thrower is similar, but 'Deadly' would multiple the wounds scored rather than hits.
Hopefully, the Beginners Guides are not too far off. The examples in there were handy and would help in situations like this.
I would love to tell you that the Beginner's Guides are not too far off, but realistically it's going to be a few weeks out before I can start working on those, and maybe a few months before they are released. For the new release I am planning on having a lot of images, and those need to be made from scratch.
In he meantime responses like yours are really helpful, thanks a ton!
I have one question. Why all altilery units have DEF 6+? It looks bit to much to me. It is more than most combat units. I think artilery should be dangerous at range but squishy, not nearly indestructible.
