I've started the project of converting various historical armies to AoF, and I've just finished with the antiquity armies so I thought I'd share it here and get some feedback. A few notes:
* These won't be super historically accurate, because otherwise there would be little difference in feel from one army to another.
* These are my interpretations, and please feel free to suggest any changes you feel might fit these armies better.
* I'm using the Kings of War Historical book as a base, but in the future maybe more sources will also be used to flesh them out even further.
* These aren't really designed to be played against the other AoF armies. You may notice that there's a lot of things they don't have, like as many weapon options, 2+ def units (except India), and of course magic. You can try it if you want though.
* This is intended to be used with competitive rules, especially with the limit on duplicate units and allies.
* I tried to also somewhat translate the KoWH listbuilding mechanic, because I think it's better than repeating units that will largely be the same between each army. It's also explained in the books, but here's how it works. You can use just the Master List if you want, or you can select a more specific army, which can take only some units from the Master List and sometimes Mercenaries as well. These are treated as units from the appropriate army. So Romans taking Master List units treat them as Roman units. Additionally there are Mercenaries. Some armies have access to these, and they can be used just like Master List units, but can only consist of up to 25% of your total units.
So without further ado, here's the lists I have so far. Dark Ages, Medieval, and skirmish lists coming soon(ish)!
