I only recently discovered this rules set, watched a BUNCH of batreps (Thanks Wylock) and am excited to get started. Now, my question(s); Is there a set of rules to create whole new factions? I have a few armies i would love to convert to this rules set. Does this rules set contain the ability to create powers? for like psychic/magic abilities. Is it cool if i share my "new" army lists for critique from other players? Just to make sure i understand how it all works. I am sure i have a bunch more, but i am suddenly drawing a blank. Thanks

Become a Patreon supporter and you get access to the points calculator to make new armies. This forum is very friendly towards people who post new/modified rules and army lists.

I'm going to keep questions to this thread as to not clutter up the forums.
So, I am going to convert armies from Warzone to this and I am already stuck. lol I am starting with probably a more challenging force to work through, but they are my favorite; The Brotherhood. Several units in this army have supernatural abilities aka spells. They cast them as a unit, but when I use the point calculator, is that total giving each model "Psykik 4" and is that right? Since they cast as a unit and not each one individually?
Also, as I am building units, I am getting the swing of things, I hope, but I am curious about weapons. Most weapons in the warzone 1st edition book are pretty basic with little to no "splash", will that make this army "weaker" without a bunch of special rules?
thanks for any insight

since noone said anything. I never play grimdark, only regiments.
I am quite sure special ability is for unit not models.
Its strange to give Psychic [Wizard] to battle groups, Its quite standard to give it to hero single model units exclusively. Spell list are very similar, between games. I think you could create your own 6x powers to fit Warzone (obligatory are: 2x shots with ap, and 1 shot with AP(3), deadly(3), for killing high value targets).
Psychic 4 - is wrong.Spells work like that: d6 + Psychic >= spell difficulty (4+ , 5+, 6+). So usually Psychic is 1 - for mediocre caster. 2 for good one. And thats it. You could consider 0 and 3 in some edge cases. Value 0 - trickster really, with 50% chance to fail simplest spell - waste of turn, better to shoot something. Value 3 would be legendary with almost autosuccess (1 is always fail) cast of every easy 4+ spell, which i think is not good.
Most of units in OPR are basic, without fancy stuff. So Warzone theme should fit, if this game is really as you describe it. I spend some time thinking about some fancy rules, but really all cases can be 80% of times describe using provided standard special rules (wheter or not special rules work as they should is a different topic to talk about).
best way to create a too strong army is to undervalue poor units. In fantasy version f.ex. Mummies - slow core infantry but with 2x attack cost 30pts, while Guardian Statues - elite melee big guys cost 145. So its 5x mummies vs 1x Guardians -> 100 attack dice vs 9 dice ,OR 50 Toughness(hp) vs 9 HP.
edit: yes yes i know this game is intended to be about capturing points, not pitch battles. But hey, miniatures are killing each other ok? So can we have some reality check here?
