Hey, I've made a custom army based on the Emperor of the Fading Suns PC and Roleplaying game. Its a fantastic universe that is a cross of my favorite elements from 40k, Dune and Star Wars. The army itself acts really similarly to HDF and Feudal Guard with a pinch of Battle Sisters. Also with more of an emphasis on melee combat with how easy it is to get a bunch of AP(1) and AP(2) melee weapons on the field.
Here's a little blurb from the army list describing what they're all about:
The Known Worlds are a collection of systems under the rule of the Phoenix Throne of Byzantium Secundus. Its armies are composed of peasant levies led by elite knights clad in power armour and protected by energy shields.
In the distant past, all of humanity was united under a Grand Republic. Then they fought over it, squandered it and finally lost it. For nearly a millennia humanity has lived under a new Dark Age. A warlord would rise up and unite the Known Worlds of human space under his rule. This warlord would later crown himself Emperor and lead humanity into a Renaissance.
His expeditionary forces have travelled far and wide to bring countless systems back into the Imperial fold, whether by diplomacy or force.
They have now come to the Sirius Sector to bring the imperial justice to the beleaguered humans that live there, whether they wish it or not…
