Hi
2 days ago i made my first game FTL. We had a lot of fun.
Now we are building our first fleets We have some question. Hope you can help us.
1. How Difficul Terrain works. What is the correct malus:
A.The distance moved in the Terrain counts double like in Bolt Action B.The remaining movement is halved C.Or the complet movement ist halved what could result into halve movement but not reaching into the Terrrain.
We Wargame veterans but struggelt with the wording.
2. Nomad Upgrade "System Override"
Can i activate the effect at any point in my turn? e.g. Move, then activate the effect and then shoot
3. The fleet Build shows errrormessages with the heroes so i want to be sure: i can have several ships with heroes as long as no heroes is used twice.
Hope you can help us. Thanks

1) It is D, your complete movement is halved, so if your movement would not be enough to move within or into the difficult terrain you simply stop at its edge.
2) "When activated", so when you activate it and choose the action the ship should take you have the option to take over an enemy Squadron.

I don'T know about 3., but when you choose your points for the fleet it says 1 hero for 300 pts, 2 heroes for 600 pts, etc.
I guess it is 1 hero for every 300 pts, but I couldn't find anything about it.

I tryed to use 2 heros for 300. That was the mistake i found it in the rules
But the meesages are overall a bit buggy.

Im still not 100% sure which timing is allowed if a system like the "System Overrider or the "Tractor beam" mean "When activated".
Does this mean at any point of the activation or at the beginning of the activation (What makes the tractor less interesting) or at the end?

Beginning of your activation, or it would say any time during your activation.

Ok thx for the help.
One other question occured during my last game.
If a ships is in cover terrain and it shoots, did the target also get cover?
in the following 2 situations we were not sure about: 1. if the ship is complettly in cover terrain and targets an enemy outside. (We use cover here because the shoot passes through the terrain and the base is surrounded by the terrain)
2. The majority of the shooting ship is in in cover so it self gets cover but the edge closest to the target is not in cover so if the shot starts at the edge of the base in never passes terrain. (We are not sure were the shot "starts" base edge or center)

I have asked OnePageAnon similar question about shooting from cover in Grimdark Future: Does unit entirely surrounded by cover terrain (e.g. in the middle of the forest) receive -1 penalty, when it shoots to the enemy outside that cover, on the open terrain?
Answer, that I got: Up to you. We usually play that you can shoot out of a forest without problems, as long as you are close to the edge.
We play that way. "Close" in our games means 1 inch, but again, it is a matter of personal preferences.
