Looks like the Havoc Brothers no longer have the ability to exchange their rifles for a hand weapon and pistol, but do have the option to become chosen (granting +1 attack) for 20 pts. Question is; does each model gain an attack for 20 pts or just the unit?
Along this same topic, can the brothers take fearless on the whole squad for 5 pts as written, or is this a typo?
mikez, in upgrade section B, you can replace an Assault Rifle with a Pistol and CCW for +5 points, or you can replace an Assault Rifle with a Plasma Pistol and CCW for +10 points.
I think Chosen for +20 points applies to the whole unit. Comparing to Battle Brothers' Veterans upgrade (granting +1A in Melee), this is also +20 points. Likewise, the Havoc Brother's Veterans (Fearless) probably applies to the whole unit for +5 points.
I like my tea, as I like my nights: dark, endless, and impossible through which to sleep.
I appreciate that and understand the rules the same. I guess my main issue is whether or not the havoc brothers can replace their rifles with pistol/c.c. weapon. If they are not, the only way to assault units in this faction is; destroyers, raptors, and berserkers.
If this is how it is meant, I will need to get some of these models or use my Chosen as stand ins.
Mutant Detroyers do not have the option to add claws to there ranged weapon. In the last iteration they did. Additionally, the unit the most closely represent does. What would it take points wise to add energy fists without sacrificing the ranged weapons?
A unit of Mutated Destroyers with 2x Energy Claws and Linked Plasma Rifles would cost 295pts. I'll have to think about maybe changing the way their options work in order to allow for more flexibility...
I think what I am looking for is a way to add 1 energy fist per model as the unit they represent have energy fist plus the ability to use all different types of ranged weapons. I realize this format makes it difficult to match them up exactly, but as long as they come stock with the fist and then the player can add which range weapons deemed necessary, we should be on the right track. The way they were represented in the last edition was probably as close as we can get.
The reason so am so gung hi about them is because I spent a lot of time converting 2 units and they are the main form of AP producing attacks for my Havoc Brothers.
