Any chance you will do a version of warstuff? It is excellent and would just like to see it with you current iteration of your rules

Maybe? Right now I'm really on the fence about it, but anyway I don't have enough time to work on it at the moment. Could be that we have another "misc" section in the future with various little games...

I would love to see that. I think some of the other games like WarStuff and Double Tap would get more hits and interest if it was supported more. Not complaining. You guys do great stuff. Just saying.

Hi all,
Not posted for a long time as unfortunately the new game genres aren't my thing.
However just wanted to say I still use Warstuff 1.7 (with admendments) to play victorian science fiction games. After forty years of wargaming they bought the fun back into the hobby. The admendments I use are actually extra special rules such Heroes, Elite and Mounted from earlier versions.
Colleagues have said that they consider the rules (even with out my admendments) unbalanced and too light hearted but that's what I love about them (even version 2 became more serious in my opinion). If I wanted heavy weight rules I'd go back to playing Ancients with WRG 6th edition or God forbid Renaissance with Trevor Halsall's 'Constantinople to Vienna' rules.
Anyway keep up the good work and I'll keep visiting the forum and the OPR website from time to time to watch for any future developments.

I would love to see that as well, hence why I mirrored the old stuff and, now that I'm thinking about it, someone sent me even more archive files for all the old games that I still need to put up.
Expanding this more generally, I would like a generic ruleset to be able to use random miniatures with which to play wargames. So, I can grab a bunch of prepainted Mage Knight or whatever and play it with my kids as they're now getting older.
This is why I keep Warstuff around, because it fills that very nicely. Having that reworked to the new "2 stat" system would be great.

2.1 would be easy enough to convert i think, just pick a quality and a defence value 2+ defence = 5 points 3+ defence = 10 points 4+ defence = 15 points etc and give 200 points instead of 10 lonesome gamer extra crunchy version is still available here lonesomegamer.wordpress.com/

I am still waiting patiently for when my son is old enough to not chew on them and understand the game.

I am so pleased to see others interested in this. Warstuff was extremely useful to me as I am a solo gamer most the time and was able to just grab whatever I had lying around and start playing. Hopefully this thread will help get an updated version started. As always this site is a great source for great rules. Love the work.

I second what was written here: as a solo player, I loved the freedom and flexibility of WarStuff: it granted me many great games with plastic soldiers and random toys through the years. I do hope that a new version will be available in the future.

Is Warstuff any different than GDF if it had a design system?

See, I'd love a design system for GDF and AoF. I know that is difficult to balance, a project in itself. But I'd be able to make minor tweaks as I apply Warhammer-oriented lists for LotR figures, for example.
My favorite design system was the WarEngine, the system behind Shock Force 2. But sometimes I want a more unit-oriented rules set, and those rules activated units but still had individual figures take actions. I have very minor things I wish were different in that game, but the design system was terrific.

i think it would balance itself as you both have the same options

In practice that would mean more effective things would be the n all armies. You could balance vs opponent but not across variety.

Just limit the number of options you can take for a character to 3 the leader can take 6 Or limit the number of points per model maybe the leader can take have double the points
