Hey everyone, it's been a bit since I posted I realize, but I'm back.
That being said, I have some things on my mind. Namely the release of GW Kill Team.
Unfortunately I bought a book, and as with most GW written material, instantly regretted it because it's 90pct fluff (which I don't really care that much about).
Also, I became even more agitated because they ripped off even more from OPR (as if 8th wasn't almost a direct copy already).
So anyway, aside from my frustrations, I did like the small board size. In any Firefight games I played, that was one of my biggest concerns. The fact that most of the board was unused and (in my case) our terrain was more spread out. The smaller board size in KT causes the game to become much more close combat friendly.
My proposal is trying a 24" x 30" board for kill team, oriented essentially as a 24" x 24" square with 3" on either side (deploying on the short edges) for deployment zones.
That would force some combat into some closer areas I think.
Yeah, OPR was around before GW killed the Warhammer world and introduced AoS, because I was happy when the AoS factions started getting added to the roster (although my Age of Fantasy games tend to be set in the Old World without the End Times, with AoS races introduced.)
Back on thread.... I got a cheap playmat from the Warlord Games sale (the one they do with the terminator game), it is 24"x30". I have found it works really well with plenty of scenery. Fast units can get into combat pretty quick but I have found that they need too otherwise the Battle Brothers shoot them to bits!
